KATHARINE BECA, ALMOST PH.D
"You started a blog when you should be writing your dissertation? That's a bold move" - Me, to me
Hello everyone! My name is Katharine Beča and I am a current Neuroscience Ph.D student at the University of Vermont. I'm also a dog-mom to a spunky German Shorthaired Pointer named Oliver, a mediocre CrossFitter, and a lover of the outdoors (especially when it includes oceans, lakes, or pools).
Throughout my 5+ years in an academic setting, I have been exposed to scientific techniques in fields like physiology, microbiology, chemistry, and behavior; I have had the opportunity to do some pretty amazing science! A couple of years into my graduate training, I realized my true passion and excitement about science lied in the art of communicating scientific results and their impact, not in performing the actual experiments.
So, come with me on this blogging journey where I take recent scientific discoveries and make them fun and digestible for everyone.
I'm so glad you're here!
